RUTLAND HEALTH AND WELLBEING STRATEGY 2022-2025
A HAPPIER, HEALTHIER RUTLAND FOR ALL

Introduction
Rutland is a healthy place to live where local people enjoy some of the best health in England. Despite this, the county is not without some challenges, and we want to improve health and wellbeing for everyone, particularly those facing disadvantages or already living with ill health.
As part of new ways of working between the NHS and local councils across the country, local areas are looking at how they can best improve the health and wellbeing of their population. This has led to the creation of a new Health and Wellbeing Strategy for Rutland.
This strategy has been produced by Rutland’s Health and Wellbeing Board, which is a committee of Rutland County Council that brings together lots of different organisations that are responsible for people’s health and care, including local NHS services.
The Health and Wellbeing Board is now asking local people in Rutland to share their views on the new Health and Wellbeing Strategy, before its finalised.

What’s in the new strategy?
Rutland’s new Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2022-25 has six priority themes (important goals that is aims to achieve):
1. The best start to life
2. Healthy and independent for as long as possible
3. Reducing health inequalities
4. Equitable access to health and wellbeing services
5. Preparing for population growth and change
6. Making sure people are well supported in the last phase of their lives
It’s felt that all of these things together can help to keep people in Rutland health and well.

How to find out more and get involved?
The Health and Wellbeing Board have published a draft version of the new Health and Wellbeing Strategy online for everyone to read. You will find this at: www.rutland.gov.uk/healthandwellbeingstrategy
Once you’ve read the summary report (or the full strategy document, if you prefer) we’re asking everyone complete a short online survey to tell us what they think.
All information received via this questionnaire will be anonymous and your feedback will be independently analysed.
The consultation closes on Friday 7 January 2022. All feedback, including completed questionnaires must be received by or on this date. For more information, please email: enquiries@rutland.gov.uk.
If you know someone who would like to take part in this consultation but does not have access to the internet, please ask them to call: 01572 722 577.
Details regarding your data protection rights and how the Council processes your data can be found at: www.rutland.gov.uk/my-council/data-protection

What happens next?
All the feedback you give us will be evaluated so that we can understand what you think about the strategy and its goals. A final report summarising the findings from the consultation will be published and everything people have told us will be considered before a final Strategy is approved.
We will then be able to put a Delivery Plan together and will involve service users, patients, their family and carers, and staff running the service to co-produce improvements in health and care between 2022 and 2025.
