Parish Council announces the sad passing of Glenis Southern

It is with great sadness that the parish council reports the recent passing of Glenis Southern. She leaves her husband, Peter, her two daughters, Claire and Victoria, and two granddaughters.

Glenis was a stalwart in the life of the village for many years: she was a first responder, a member and then chairman of the parish council. She was a trustee of the Whitebread Trust and Ketton Sports and Social Club. She co-founded an organisation that met weekly (and twice weekly for a long period) to provide a regular meeting point for older members of the village called The Hub.

She helped so many people with practical support and advice all of which were so helpful and focused on the needs of an individual or of a family. There were few aspects of life in Ketton that she did not enhance with her energy and determination. Glenis will be sorely missed; she did her very best for the village and the wider community. She was a warm and friendly person whose good humour and sense of duty were a model for us all.

Information about her funeral service will appear in good time.
